Alec and Mindy introduce the action of phrogging when they move into the guest room at the Harper family's house in I See You. The Harper family has no idea the pair are living in their home and thinks something supernatural might be the cause of the strange occurrences. The incidents are occurring at the same time Greg Harper is assigned as lead detective on a case of missing boys, which resembles events that happened fifteen years earlier. One strange incident that occurs at the Harper house is when a mug falls from the roof and hits Todd, the man Jackie Harper had an affair with. Another incident sees Greg follow a mouse into the closet to try to catch it, only for the closet door to close and lock behind him. Jackie and Greg think their son Connor might be behind everything, as he holds resentment toward his mother for cheating on his dad, but it turns out Alec was the one causing all the problems. Mindy was seemingly interested in living in the house and making a documentary, but Alec's intention was to mess with the family and make them think they were going insane. The concept of phrogging is not too different from the more familiar term squatting. This is when an individual or a group of people live on an unoccupied or abandoned property. Phrogging differs because it involves living on an occupied property without the owner's knowledge. In the case of I See You , Alec and Mindy live in the Harper house guest room, only utilizing the rest of the house when Connor goes to school and his parents are at work. However, phrogging can also refer to living in someone's home while they are away, like a rental property or vacation home. The term comes from the idea of a frog hopping around from one lily pad to the next.
Phrogging is credited in the movie as an Internet trend in which people attempt to live inside another person's house without being phrogging movie, often moving from one house rent-free to the next hence the term's reference to frogs. With this prospect, it's no wonder audiences walk away wondering if I See You is based on true events. Learn more, phrogging movie.
