Pokemon cries
The cry usually consists of an electronic noise.
Out of the thousand or so Pokemon that exist today, there are plenty of creepy ones. Of course, not all of these belong to the Ghost-type , though the majority of the creepiest creatures in the Pokemon games do relate to the undead in one way or another. Ones that stick out include Pokemon like Drifloon, who guides children to the afterlife, and Froslass, whose penchant for eating frozen souls and keeping their bodies as trophies seems a little dark for a series rated E for everyone. It's not just the lore behind these creatures either, with some of the cries featured throughout the many Pokemon games being pretty spine-chilling as well. Froslass, for example, sounds like a woman screaming for help in a blizzard, but there are plenty of other Pokemon with equally creepy cries, even some that players may not remember.

There's something decidedly alien about Togekiss's cry. For all of this, the cry finishes with a cuteness that aligns with Togekiss's appearance and personality. It's an unusual and unique sound that manages to contain both a sweeping magnitude and cuteness. The Game Boy was limited in terms of the sounds it could make, so sound teams had to get creative in order to create distinct sounds. It's a testament to them that they managed to create a cry for Hypno that is both scary and disturbing, which also indicates its Psychic typing.

While the majestic echoes of Lumineon's call are somewhat hypnotizing, it's not something players would want to come across in the dead of night at sea. It's an incredibly powerful Pokemon in certain circumstances and its cry is one of the creepiest in the Pokemon franchise. Still, it could also be interpreted as the mushroom communicating with other fungi rather than the insect itself. Milotic lives at the bottom of large lakes, so this cry isn't something that players would want to hear in the dead of night. Like an extended version of Klawf's cry, the noise Cetitan makes seems like a pained scream which is petrifying to hear in the distance when climbing Glaseado Mountain. Hearing Lumineon cry without seeing it as players sail the seas of the Cobalt Coastlands in Legends Arceus is spine-chilling, thanks to the mystical verberation and echoes of its sound. So many teams have been wrecked by the sheer power of this Pokemon, and its cry can often be a reminder of that. Cries introduced since Generation IV are mostly recognizable, digitized sounds, such as birds chirping for Starly or a xylophone for Kricketot. Some cries are exclusive to these games, while some other cries are based on the anime. The cry is already one of the strangest within the Pokemon games, but when it made a return in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, it did so in a surprisingly creepy way. For example, Charmander and Charmeleon 's base cries are the same, but Charmeleon's is lower-pitched. Like Milotic, some players will have flashbacks whenever they hear Spiritomb make an appearance, thanks to it being a hard hitter on Cynthia's team.
