Having 5 players on one screen in multiplayer was fantastic.
The most remarkable thing about Rayman Legends is how consistently it introduces new and unpredictable ideas over its roughly 12 hours. This beautifully animated co-op game tosses dozens of inventive ideas into the mix, proving there's still room for exciting creativity in the platforming genre. Every time I thought I found a personal favorite stage, the next one came along and replaced it. This sequel takes Rayman Origins ' colorful, animated look and feel in new directions. The beautiful transitions and clever bosses look stunning, expressive, and vibrant. Compared to most platformer characters, Rayman's jump physics tend to feel a little floaty, but I got used to it and grew to love it quickly.

When it first launched in I was blown away by its stunning level design, whimsical music and truly creative imagination. Nearly every level was an unexpected joy that challenged and charmed in equal measure. Variety is also in plentiful supply, with Rayman stumbling across worlds made of cake, cooking utensils and even didgeridoos. Rayman can run, jump, punch and fly across almost any environment. You can thankfully alleviate its more challenging sections by bringing in a friend. I found playing with a pal on Switch to be an absolute joy, and relatively seamless with the use of two joy-con controllers. Supporting up to four players, some levels can descend into absolute chaos with a few buddies in tow.

It's kind of hard to see that this game is currently on sale for about 7 euros in the PSN store. My Score. I don't really care if there is a lot of content in a game if that content don't quite feel fun. I will say that I'd like to see a new style and approach to the next 2D Mario. The best examples of the fluid platforming are the music themed levels. The levels he runs through never feel frustrating thanks to some great pacing, and the variety of stealth puzzle areas, standard platformer challenges, and shoot-'em-up-inspired gliding stages constantly kept me on my toes and eager to see what came next. Such a wonderful game. The fact they added in extra stuff that's not on other ports and its portable makes it so worth it. By definition, it is Definitive.

I don't. The OST and sound effects whizz me straight back to being a kid again. Nintendo Switch. It's still a fun game to play, but at some point you might get bored. See All 85 User Reviews. I'd love to replay it, but I own it on several consoles I already own. With exceptional gameplay nailed, Rayman Legends continues to knock it out of the park with the sheer amount of content in the game. It's great. Too bad Samus Returns comes out the same day. At the end of the first world, the Castle Rock level opens up. If they'd called it Expanded Edition, then sure, the new additions are minimal and the title would be questionable. Everyone should own this game, regardless of platform.
