This seems a bit ridiculous. I wonder what their storage solution is like. Almost certainly Google Drive unlimited. Like every other Unlimited service, because people like this abuse the shit out of it then when it inevitably dies they run around exclaiming "dont blame me brah they said it was unlimited If you let people advertise 'unlimited' but they can't actually deliver, you end up with a kind of market for lemons situation. It devalues the products of people that aren't bullshitting you. Say with fake-unlimited the "real limit" is 4TB before they start terminating you, but a different provider provides 5TB of capacity. Because the former is allowed to outright lie, there is no way for the latter to effectively communicate that they are in fact offering a better product, instead they too have to make a bullshit "fake unlimited" claim to compete. Now because nobody has to actually back their claims with anything, they are infact massively incentivised to cut the "real storage" limits, because it will cut their costs, and they can still keep making the same claims. Its a market for lemons[1] race to the bottom, and everyone loses, producer and consumer because scamming liars cannot be reliably assessed beforehand.

Go to file. For example the top post of all time where the guy has 1 Petabyte of videos in Amazon drive he talks about how only his reddit datahoarder files are encrypted. Is there a valid reason for this aside from making sure if they delete it once, reddit datahoarder, they don't delete it everywhere?

One user, posting on Reddit's thread for "data hoarders," claimed he's downloaded the bulk of SoundCloud's public archive, and that it's "only" TB. He posted in response to reports that SoundCloud only has funding to last it 50 days, and that users should back up their favourite tracks. SoundCloud has denied those reports, saying it's "here to stay. He posted a temporary GB log file to prove he did it, though due to the size Business Insider hasn't verified that file. Makemakemake didn't give precise technical details, but did reference using Google's cloud computing services, rather than a home connection. SoundCloud, meanwhile, is hosted on Amazon's cloud computing platform. Makemakemake doesn't plan to make a replica or "mirror" version of SoundCloud available to the public.

Digital hoarding also known as e-hoarding , e-clutter, data hoarding, digital pack-rattery or cyber hoarding is defined by researchers as an emerging sub-type of hoarding disorder characterized by individuals collecting excessive digital material which leads to those individuals experiencing stress and disorganization. The term gained popularity among online forums and in the media before receiving scholarly attention. Several studies suggest the main influential factors of digital hoarding are related to a number of issues and personal reasons which includes reduced costs for storing data, individuals lacking time to curate accumulated data, the perceived lifespan of data and emotional attachment to digital assets. The studies conducted to examine digital hoarding are limited in scope as this is an emerging area of study. There is a lack of agreement among researchers about whether digital hoarding is a condition to be treated rather than a normal human activity.

I also have lots of VHS tapes. My goal is to eventually rip everything to a big storage device I'd love a NAS, but that's not feasible until my living situation changes and play it on an Nvidia Shield TV Pro. I imagine I'll need a huge amount of storage and free time to get everything ready. For those of you who have a shitload of videos in a central storage device, how big is your collection? How did you pull it off? How long did it take you? Soon, I intend to start buying TV shows Got tapes digitalized and quality is worse now So I found an old tape in an old camcorder that had my 7th grade talent show on it. I even showed my dad a short clip he was there when I watched it in the camcorder and he agreed it was worse…any suggestions on how to move forward? So I found an old tape in an old camcorder that had my 7th grade talent show on it.

I think you quite clearly know the difference between the two situations. But ArchiveTeam cited the layoffs, cashflow issues, and an earlier legal case involving unpaid royalties as good reasons to preserve the site.

Go to file. If there was a policy that assured my non-shared files wouldn't be subject to these scans I would happily store content unencrypted. But ArchiveTeam cited the layoffs, cashflow issues, and an earlier legal case involving unpaid royalties as good reasons to preserve the site. I didn't create my tax documents, I didn't create the professionally shot photos of my kid, and it's arguable whether it was truly I that created KSP game save files. The problem is they dont downsize to a "reasonable" 10TB, they over correct in the opposite directly like Amazon did, and people that used the service as intended get fucked. Over a million megabytes of storage! View all files. Dismiss alert. You switched accounts on another tab or window. The companies will just put an end to abusive users or punish everyone uniformly by increasing prices. Let's all calm down please. Repeated infringement of intellectual property rights, including copyright, will result in account termination. If you can't compete on the number, don't compete on the number.
