Durham Police yesterday said they are investigating after human remains were found in a wooded area on Tuesday morning. On November 28 at about am, members from East Division were searching a wooded area near Simpson Avenue and Baseline Road in Bowmanville for an unrelated matter. During this search they discovered the human remains. The identity of the deceased is known to police. However, investigators are still in the process of notifying the next of kin, police explained in a statement.
