Annihilation is the final boss of Remnant 2 and the Root corruption's source. As the physical embodiment of the Root, Annihilation is the toughest boss fight you'll encounter in the game. Found at the end of Root Earth , this boss fight has three distinct phases—each starting after you deplete his health bar entirely. Annihilation will spawn from the hole in the center; however, he will fly in from the back of the arena after the first time. The following moves he will do after spawning will always have the same pattern every time, so try to remember the timing for its attacks, and you should be fine for the first half of its health. Once you get rid of his health bar, there will be a short cutscene before the second phase starts. Annihilation's second phase will start in a completely different arena. This futuristic-looking arena is much smaller, and you'll have to deal with several root tendrils that can make maneuvering the tight spaces difficult. The main issue with this phase is dealing with his attacks that cover the entirety of the arena, especially his horizontal sword sweeps that can come from either direction. Another thing you have to be wary about is that, randomly throughout the fight, Annihilation will switch from its current look to the dragon-like creature you fought in its first phase. Not only that, but he will also change the arena back and forth in the same manner. The last thing you should know about his second phase moves is its blight pools that will appear from underneath your feet when he slams the ground. After killing Annihilation for the second time, there will be another cutscene with Clementine and The Keeper before the third phase starts. Annihilation's third phase does not have a health bar, but he will summon a horde of his minions to attack you. The only objective for you to do is to stay alive as long as possible until the fight is finally over.
This attack can be followed up by multiple other attacks:. Almost all of them are well-telegraphed though, and the sound-cues are a big tell especially in the 2nd phase. Blight Pool Annihilation slams the ground and a blight pool appears remnant 2 annihilation your location.
You might have fought against a bunch of bosses in Remnant 2 , but there's nothing quite like Annihilation. After beating four areas and their bosses, you'll reach the Root Earth area that looks just like Earth, except it's deeply corrupted. At the end of this area, you'll battle Annihilation alongside Clementine. Annihilation is the only boss in the game that regenerates its health fully when you defeat it first. Moreover, if you're defeated during the second phase after it regenerates its health, you'll have to start the battle from the first phase all over again.

It's highly recommended to get rid of these pairs as soon as possible since Annihilation goes into a vulnerable state for a few seconds once you do it. I hate this boss so much the 2nd phase is just annoying it would have been better if the first phase was tanker and no 2nd health bar. Im a little sad that this was one of the easiest bosses in the game, though admittedly I am playing on only Survivor difficulty. If you don't remove these orbs, they're likely the highest damage-dealing attack from Annihilation. During almost the entirety of this boss fight none of the attacks actually targeted or damaged them, leaving them free to constantly bombard the boss with damaging blasts. Once you teleport, the boss always slams a huge blade on the ground near you first. There is good and cool stuff like him dodging when you aim at him and the head being the weakspot. This boss is phenomenal in design and execution and presents an insane challenge. The main issue with this phase is dealing with his attacks that cover the entirety of the arena, especially his horizontal sword sweeps that can come from either direction. No fix available at the point of writing this. Was thinking huntress spear and bleeds or something. When you manage to deplete Annihilation's health bar for a second time, a cutscene will trigger in which Clementine and The Keeper evaluate the situation.

Leave feedback. Unsullied Heart. Impalement Annihilation nails its sword into the ground up to 3 times, each time releasing a wave of energy. On the futuristic scenario, if you walk towards Annihilation you will fall to your death. Of course after a few attempts I get used to it. It is, after all, as close as we can get to the source of the Root, and it's throwing everything it's got at us as a last ditch effort. Basically is a massive departure from every other boss in the game, which can be defeated with any strategy though individual bosses will be easier to defeat for some strategies than others , by being a boss that can only be fought effectively through one specific strategy. Definitely one of my favorites as far as final boss designs in souls-like games go. Annihilation conjures several balls of energy dealing high damage on impact. They will be in vertical position, but may branch in a horizontal position to limit your movement. You can dodge them if you only have one pair left, but there's no way of dodging multiple pairs at the same time. The nonstop whining in this thread is golden. However, I agree that the story was off. Random ass boss with a miserable color palate.
I join. So happens. Let's discuss this question.
