Bosses are special, dangerous Enemies that feature their own arena, a large and prominent health bar, and a variety of unique moves and abilities. You will need to perform multiple Deathblows on them in order to defeat them, and filling their Posture Gauge is the only way to accomplish this. Decreasing their health will make their Posture Gauge deplete slower. Great Colored Carp however is a special boss; it cannot be killed through combat and must be evaded to progress. Subsequent feedings will prompt the feeding attendant to say he doesn't want the great carp to get fat, and will not reward you with more scales. Great Colored Carp will become non-hostile after feeding it Precious Bait. According to the Great White Whisker the Great Carp is biologically immortal, yet the Fountainhead Palace's Lake is filled with Great Carp skeletons, meaning others have killed it before. Theory: the current Great Carp is a former okami, evidenced by its numerous humanoid teeth. If true however, it's odd that it doesn't have red eyes like the confirmed former okami carps. Feeding more before talking to him, is a waste of Precious Bait items. I can't be the only one who feels terrible after killing it? After you feed it and see it munching on the bait and being all friendly, it was terrible betraying its trust with that deadly bait. Did it once and never again. Poor fish fren.

Along the floor of Fountainhead Palace you'll find Precious Bait you can eventually feed the carp. But this isn't actually what we're after. What you want is Truly Precious Bait, and there's only two ways to get it. You may have already come across Pot Noble Harunaga in Hirata.

Great Carp Attendant is a dedicated caretaker of the enormous Great Colored Carp that dominates the deep waters of Fountainhead Palace. Great Carp Attendant can be killed by players, or can be interacted with for a quest and associated rewards. I didn't get the scales after killing him right after he gave him the wiskers. It may be due to the fact that I had to use the Homeward Idol after he threw me off the platform. His quest is sadly one of thos very Finishing the quest should have rewarded you for at least double what he would give you by simply killing him. So something interesting happened here.

Because I got hit by it a couple times and it didn't one-hit-kill me, though I do have 9 out of 10 prayer necklaces at this point, and it did a TON of damage. This is what you should aim for.

He may still be onto you from noticing you at some earlier point then. You won't be able to do this until you reach the Fountainhead Palace. Not even sure if you need to buy anything to be honest. Facing the door, there should be a waterfall to your left. You dont need to feed one precious bait at a time. They won't have it initially, but as you continue to give them more carp scales they will each reward you with one of the two Truly Precious Bait items. Might be useful, but it'll also makes your skill point grinding last a bit longer. Someone at the palace noticed their pet fish was dead, and flushed it. In this video guide I will show you how to defeat the Great Colored Carp. There will be another Idol with an NPC nearby. Go through the building you spawn beside, out the front doors, and take an immediate left toward the waterfall. You can speak to the giant spirit thing here if you want, but he just tells you to ring the bell and feed the Great Carp.
It is excellent idea
