The group travels to America, where they meet up with Hao and his followers. They must navigate a maze-like building to reach Hao, facing a series of traps and challenges along the way. As they approach Hao's lair, they find themselves facing off against his followers in a series of intense battles. Once they finally reach Hao, Yoh and his friends are surprised to find that he is nothing like they expected. He is not the evil villain they have been led to believe he is, but rather a complex and troubled young man who is struggling to find his place in the world.
