The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is chock-full of side quests for players to pursue. Some feature fixed endings that cannot be changed, but there are others that give players a choice in how the quest plays out. Skyrim 's "A Daedra's Best Friend" requires players to locate a lost dog and reunite them with their master. Finding the dog is simple enough, but the path back to its owner, Clavicus Vile , can be a little confusing if players have yet to explore the area west of Falkreath. The quest can then be started by traveling to Falkreath and waiting for an NPC to approach the Dragonborn and ask them to speak to Lod , Falkreath's Blacksmith.

After speaking with Clavicus Vile 's statue for the first time, if you never complete the quest, you may keep Barbas as a companion. Put him out of our misery! If you reach the first piled up set of rocks on the left, you've gone too far. The quest can then be started by traveling to Falkreath and waiting for an NPC to approach the Dragonborn and ask them to speak to Lod , Falkreath's Blacksmith. Note: Only the Masque of Clavicus Vile will count towards the "Oblivion Walker" achievement, so you should spare Barbas if you're interested in that achievement. Just get over here, mutt.
