Of course I can see, that these rather are dimensions of his own psyche than of Alessa's, but how would James be capable of creating his own fog world and otherworld? Alessa was born out of wedlock to Dahlia Gillespie in Silent Hill, and was cast out by the townspeople, who believed she was "sin incarnate". Alessa was gifted with witch-like powers, which she uses to telepathically break a metal chain, wilt flowers, create an alternate reality, and give life to two doppelgangers of herself. The local religious cult, led by Alessa's aunt, Christabella, believed Alessa was a witch due to her lack of a father and Dahlia's refusal to name him, and presumably due to Alessa's powers.

Sometimes you are tormented by manifestations conjured up by the psyche of the character you control.
