The adjustability is simple and it does work. Most will experience an increase in ball speed and reduced spin, leading to longer drives. Three lofts plus the adjustability gives 6. The glossy grey crown is a bit dull — a big move away from the lairy crown designs of the R1 and RBZ Stage 2. Setting the slider to one extreme limits flight to one shape. Technology TaylorMade responded to feedback on the R1 and attempted to make the adjustability simpler. It really works, too.

The newest version of the SLDR S lacks some of the adjustability from the previous version, but promises all the distance. One of the best ways to get golfers to spend more money on a new club is to convince them that they will gain considerable distance. While there are many who scoff at the seemingly wild claims so many of the companies make; many are more than willing to plunk down three or four hundred dollars in an attempt to see if the claims are true. Among the latest group of companies to have claimed to crack the code of increased distance is TaylorMade. According to TaylorMade, this combination of a low-forward center of gravity and increased loft creates an impact condition resulting in high launch and low spin; the combination which produces the most distance. Read on to find out if this is really is the key to more distance or just another wild claim. Over the past several years we have seen the company go from the traditional black driver, to white, back towards black more of a charcoal with the first SLDR , go back to white with a special release of the SLDR, and now, with the SLDR S, the company has chosen to go with a matte silver finish. While I personally prefer the darker finishes, such as those used on the original SLDR, the silver is nice. One thing that the company has kept consistent is the used of the black PVD face, which I think frames the ball very nicely. The dark face is further complimented by the use of the dark button back. Regardless of the color, I prefer clubs not to be too flashy. I like that. While I would prefer no alignment aid, the club has very small one, a small TaylorMade logo. There is some other script along the outer edges of the crown, but nothing too bold or distracting at address. All in all, the SLDR is a good looking club.
I noted today they are starting to show up on ebay as well.

That allows golfers to launch the ball higher and with less spin, which is the key to longer drivers. It also gives the it slightly faster ball speeds more forgiveness on shots hit low on the face. SLDR drivers have a 3-degree range of adjustability 1. But the range of lofts offered by the four different heads 8, 9. Bottom Line: In recent years, TaylorMade has upgraded its premium drivers by adding more. Our testing showed that the SLDR is one of the special drivers that comes around every few years that has the potential to win over an enormous amount of golfers. But there is a problem with these mechanisms; while they add adjustability, they also add weight. But the sliding weight track is located in the exact location TaylorMade prefers to add weight in their driver — in the low, forward region of the head. The reason, Olsavsky says, is because adjustable weight systems are time consuming to adjust, and offer far fewer center of gravity options than sliding systems. If golfers wanted their R1 to have a draw bias, they placed the gram weight in the heel, and the lighter 1-gram weight in the toe.

Low, low spin. More forgiving than cc model. LoftUp is a necessity, as is fitting. A game changer for high spin players. Combined with the ultra low spin SLDR driver, TaylorMade is going to have a lot of golfers singing their praises in In stark contrast to the horrific offerings, the SLDR is a classy, understated, good looking club. The volume of the sound is also medium to slightly low.

This time last year I bought a Taylor made rocketballz II driver. Makes birdies a possibility even on the longest par 4's I play. The looks may please more golfers and certainly tour players who want to use a TaylorMade driver, but are sponsored by another brand elsewhere in their bags. Definitely gaining few yards and taking out those clubs for the mini driver as well as another wedge in the bag will be very beneficial for me. Driver Titleist TSi3. Whether or not this club really is better than a driver is to be determined I need to personally test it but from looks and what the market seems to feel about it, I think this product is going to tank. I have yet to try the Mini but am about to give it a try. Certainly a bit shocked and surprised to see TM announce a new SLDR driver at this point in time, but really looking forward to seeing some reviews on this! Highly recommend you give it a try. If my swing was not perfect, I did not notice the decrease in distance Tristan did. I took it to my gym a few times inside dr.
.
By sliding the weight a few more clicks towards fade I was actually able to shape the ball both ways, something I struggle to achieve with conventional drivers. Like previous TaylorMade drivers, it also announces your presence quite effectively with a loud, but not overbearing, impact sound. Have Your Say Got more than 2 words to say? Hi, I have a sldr and on the hotel it has Accuracy is the main item. Makes birdies a possibility even on the longest par 4's I play. I did have negative feedback on the driver which is good.
