It looks like you are trying to make some honest assessments here but there are a multitude of variables here that you and others are still missing. As you noted, and I pointed out to Dan, internal heat generation radiation is outbound as well as thermal absorption inbound. No reviewer is understanding this point since they are not Engineers.

Unlike their competitors, Sony has had three generations to work out the problems they have run into with their cameras. That is why Sony is one of the most trusted brands to turn to when it comes to getting a great quality camera for a fair value. Unfortunately, no camera goes without its flaws. You may be able to get some of the best frames with your Sony A7iii camera, but the only downside is how quickly it heats up. If your camera overheats, eventually it will shut down. Imagine having your camera power down in the middle of shooting.

This release was a fairly substantial jump in terms of image quality and videos specs, bringing it all the way up to 4K 60p with bit internal recording. Moving to bit has been a good move for Sony and it is nice to see it coming to most all of their new releases. Shooting at 4K 60p does reveal some limitations of the model with overheating being a not uncommon problem. If you are looking for some solutions to overheating, then Stefan Malloch has six options to try out. The simplest option is to adjust the auto power off temp setting to high. This will simply allow the camera to get a little hotter before it shuts down. Some of the biggest culprits for power and processing usage are networking options like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth since those connections will run in the background. Turning these options off, or setting it to airplane mode, can help maximize the efficiency of the camera. Most of the heat is generated at the sensor and by opening up the LCD screen you will help heat dissipate a bit better.

Even if the heat might dissipate very slowly, if the temperatures inside and outside are almost similar, it will dissipate to equilibrium. Remember too that all those peltier type coolers that are insulated boxes can be reversed to warm food as well as cool it. They're black so they don't show up in reflections or cause color casts on set. As a Sony user, I can say that it has been pretty easy to overheat the last 3 Sony A7 cameras I have bought - particularly the A7r3 - when shooting 4k 30p video for any length of time. Clear editor. In the same circumstances, your "thermos" might negate some heating by the sun, but the internal heating would be bonkers and no cameras are insulated like vacuum bottles anyway.
