Celeste is a clear contender for best platformer of the year, and it'll probably end up being one of the most competitive speedrunning titles, too. While regular players will spend upwards of half-an-hour trying to master a single clear path through any given level, there's a lot more freedom for expression than is immediately obvious — perfect fodder for speedrunning. Plenty of speedrunners are vying for first place at the moment — you can see the speedrun. You can see the run below, and while it's super impressive, there's clear room for improvement. Given that the game's only been out a matter of days, one of the biggest challenges for early speedrunners is remembering the layout of some of the trickier levels — plenty needs to be memorised in the latter half of the game. As Magolor points out on his YouTube page, this run is far from perfect in the opening minutes, but manages quite well in the second half. Anyway, as someone who spent around 10 hours and upwards of deaths completing Celeste, this is clearly a feat. This record is likely to change as the days go by, but for now, it's a neat look at how especially adept players are tackling the game. Coyote Time is a reasonably familiar mechanic in popular speed-running games. The section of the level where Madeline flees from Mr. Instead, focus on learning the timing and use basic movement to get through it. Whenever Madeline performs a dash, her hair turns white briefly before returning to red. When you reach the second locked door, there will be a red bubble to the left. Then jump to the coin in the top right corner before dashing to the right to fall off its platform and then dash left to get the bottom left coin. This order is critical because Mr. When the Celeste team decided to pursue a speedrunning direction, it had three core pillars. To make the beginning of this checkpoint go much faster, take the red bubble at the start to the left before taking the one above it to the right. Old Site is a straightforward level similar to City but introduces dream blocks and Badeline. You will have to dash right and move Madeline around as she falls to avoid spikes, but this will let you drop to the part with the dream column in the middle and three coins. This technique preserves incredible speed, although it requires precise timing to pull off consistently.

Arron Kluz. Answer: Celeste is a challenging and punishing platformer, but its difficulty is fair in that deaths can always be traced back to mistakes made by the player. Towards the end of Old Site, you will have to make your way down a highly tall room. It is performed by inputting a dash and then jumping immediately after. Doing so means having a strategy to get through each one when you first enter it and a strategy for if you die on your first attempt at the room. Resort is likely the first level you must practice to get your time down. However, doing this trick will require you to drift right over the spikes so you can reach Badeline on your first try. Early in this section, you will come across a room with a massive dream block column at its center. Then, you can run right to get the final coin and head to the far right side of the screen, where the block drops down to reveal the exit. On a broad perspective, I think that we're definitely big fans of allowing players to kind of interpret the media how they see fit. This room has a nice movement string, making it easy to avoid Badeline. Question: What mental health issues does Celeste explore? This technique preserves incredible speed, although it requires precise timing to pull off consistently.
Certainly. All above told the truth. We can communicate on this theme. Here or in PM.
