He is most often seen with his friends , Kyle Broflovski , Eric Cartman , and Kenny McCormick , between whom prominence levels are consistently exchanged as part of an ensemble cast , meaning multiple characters are alotted equal focus. He is also the love interest of Wendy Testaburger and best friends with Butters Stotch. He is voiced by the series co-creator, Trey Parker. Stan is mostly shown wearing a brown jacket with a red collar, a blue hat with a red puffball and rim, and blue jeans. He also wears a blue Terrance and Phillip shirt to bed and a green suit for special occasions. In some episodes, it is clear he has black hair like his father Randy when his hat is partially or completely removed - this was first seen in "A Very Crappy Christmas". All of the boys' hats are removed and their hair is seen for an extended period during the shower room scene in "Lil' Crime Stoppers", although Kenny's head is only seen from behind. Stan also apparently has blue eyes, as noted by Kyle when Butters draws their cartoon forms in "A Very Crappy Christmas", but this is uncertain because Kyle said it was similar because he had a sharper nose, so it could have been a mistake. In "Good Times with Weapons", he was portrayed with brown eyes, so odds are it was Butters' error when his eyes were blue.

South Park is a great show. With great humor, characters, messages and just plain nonsense. It has made quite a fandom for itself, with many members and ships galore. However now, I ask myself "Is this fandom still good? Welcome to character analysis!

The bulk of the humor on South Park , comes from a select few people. Typically the funny characters are zany figures like Cartman, Butters, and Jimmy. Stan Marsh, who's somewhat the "moral compass" and voice of reason in South Park - if there i s such a thing - isn't first thought of for his humor.

Stan's family includes his year-old sister Shelly, who bullies and beats him, and his centenarian grandfather, Marvin, who calls Stan "Billy". In the tradition of the show's animation style , Stan is composed of simple geometrical shapes and primary colors. He also showed some heroism in " Cherokee Hair Tampons " by stating he would gladly donate a kidney to Kyle, even if it "hurt a whole lot". However, Stan has been shown to have an overwhelmingly clearer understanding of scams and corporate corruption than anyone else in South Park, and has an especially good grasp of the dangers of cults. The temporary cure for Stan's cynicism is alcohol, which Stan takes to see the old world. She is Stan's mother. Shelley is Stan's older sister, who lives the life of a violent bully and abusive sibling towards Stan. Stan's love for animals can make him seem as crazy the rest of the town, but he may be the sanest person in the town.
He was originally conceived of as the most 'normal' character that viewers would identify with. As a result, he's often the one calling out the nonsense that takes over his friends and the other residents of South Park. However, from Season 15 onward, Stan's character becomes more complex.

Mackey tries to talk Stan out of his depression, to which Stan breaks down, crying, wanting everything to go back to what it was. He also wears a blue Terrance and Phillip shirt to bed and a green suit for special occasions. In " Breast Cancer Show Ever ", he is concerned about Wendy fighting Cartman but feels that he could not do anything about it. As of "South Park: The Fractured But Whole" they appear to have gotten back together, as evident by the fact that they are listed as dating on the character chart and their continuous flirtatious dialogue between them when they are on the battlefield together as well as Stan referring to her as "his Call Girl" and Wendy referring to him as "her Toolshed". It also shows Stan is a whale and dolphin lover and he tells the Japanese that it was a cow and a chicken that nuked Hiroshima, not a whale and a dolphin, in order to save them all being wiped out by the Japanese.
