In separating itself from these storytelling methods, Rey's New Jedi Order movie and every other upcoming Star Wars film after it can stand on their own with their singularly unique styles, tones, and atmospheres, rather than be yet more endless continuations - and derivative mirrors - of what Lucas created. While many would likely position Rey's Jedi Order movie dropping Lucas' rhyming scheme as a dishonor to his legacy, it would actually be the opposite. If all other Star Wars movies employed a more unique, original storytelling style than the Skywalker Saga, it would ensure that the three trilogies stand completely on their own.
