Picture of a farm and an Apex with a hoe. Farming is a simple, renewable source of various organic objects such as Food , Plant Fibre and Seeds. The basic tool needed to farm is the Hoe. It is used to till soil see list below into usable farmland using the left mouse button. Seeds can then be placed on tilled soil. Each plant takes a certain amount of time to grow. Once they are fully grown, mouse over them and press the E key to harvest.

I haven't found any up to date answers to this topic yet, and Minecraft kind of spoiled me with any harvested plants dropping multiple seeds there. Seeds are plantable items that are found in chests or harvested from fully-grown food plants. They are used to grow food from a specific plant. By using a stone hoe on a dirt block, it will make farm tiles, that are used to grow the specific seed. Different kinds of seeds need more or less space than the others, and take time to grow, depending if the player is close or not The player has to be in the seeds sight in order for it to grow fast. The seeds have 3 levels of growth, showing when they can be harvested. There are two types of underwater crops, Reefpods and Coralcreep. Reefpods need to be replanted upon harvesting, while Coralcreep do not, but both of these seeds are only found in the wild in the waters of Ocean-type planets but not Arctic. These are also the only crops that do not benefit from a sprinkler. Toxictop is the only other type of crop found on Ocean-type planet the Toxic biome , but it is found on the surface and it is not an underwater crop. Players may optimize their underwater farming by using a Swimming Augment, otherwise harvesting and sowing crops will take much more time and patience.

They can be bought at the outpost Terramart for 10 pixels each or from merchants on planets for random price about 10 pixels each. Before grass will grow the dirt must first be tilled using a hoe , then watered using a either a Wooden Watering Can , collected water , or medium to heavy rain. If the tilled dirt is not watered, throwing the grass seed at it will waste the seed. There is no growth period -- grass appears instantly on application to watered, tilled dirt.

Crops are plants that grow wildly and can be cultivated for food and resources. Every crop type has its specific growth times and stages. You will know that a crop is harvestable because it will become highlighted when the mouse cursor is floating over it. Your plants will grow no matter where you are in the universe you can even grow them on your ship.
