Steven universe diamonds
The Diamonds, unique in their flawlessness, sought to expand their perfection across the galaxy. The Great Diamond Authority was the matriarchal body of Gem leaders. They were once the absolute ruling power over the Gem Homeworld and its remaining active colonies until the beginning of Era 3 and their replacement through democratic elections. Despite this, the Diamonds still seem to retain their status as leaders on Homeworld, even if to a lesser extent. Even still retaining some influence over Homeworld, the Diamonds have begun dedicating themselves to helping Gems through their new specialties. Before they changed their ways, the Great Diamond Authority had complete control over every Gem and their race's endeavors. As confirmed in Steven Universe: End of an Era , each Diamond was responsible for overseeing a specific part of Homeworld society. White was the leader and in charge of establishing Gemkind's identity. Yellow and Blue, holding second-tier status, oversaw Homeworld's military and culture respectively. Pink was in charge of throwing celebrations for the achievements of the other Diamonds. The Diamonds used their essence to create new Gems, who would become subordinates and dedicated their lives in the name of their Diamond. Gems were distinguished by the diamond emblem on their uniform, corresponding to the color of the Diamond they served. In order to expand the Gem race, the Diamonds took control of celestial bodies for colonization purposes. This would allow Gems to be mass-produced by utilizing outside resources. Each Diamond owned specific colonies and was in charge of making sure they were successful.

In the fifth season finale, Steven wins over Yellow and Blue Diamond, then, after a grueling battle, convinces White Diamond to come over to his side, suggesting the potential for a lasting peace after thousands of years of warfare. Also, Steven has seemingly taken a huge step toward resolving his identity crisis with Pink Diamond — which only happens after White rips the Gem out of his body. Here are a few of the biggest payoffs:. Obsidian, fans may note, is the enormous Gem whose form makes up the backbone of the Gem Temple back on Earth. The Gems deal in advanced technology, much of which is devoted to enhancing limbs or adding limbs or making bigger versions of limbs. And the introduction of the arm-shaped ships used by Yellow and Blue Diamond, as well as the leg-shaped ship used by Pink Diamond, suggested the existence of a sort of Gem Voltron. Steven has even wondered aloud about this at one point. The answer, it turns out, is that he would need to reform: Once White Diamond pulls out his Gem in an effort to revive Pink Diamond, Steven is left deadly ill, while the Gem goes through the stages of its own evolution from Pink to Rose Quartz to Steven. Also, the Off Colors meet the Diamonds. Once White let go of her hold on the other Gems, it becomes clear that the Pearl was under her control as well — and, in fact, had originally been a Pink Pearl.

Four Is Death : Whenever the pink diamond is depicted, it's at the bottom of the symbol, visually indicating the "last" of the four, an early hint that she's been dead for thousands of years. Blue Diamond and Yellow Diamond are between thirty and fifty. Why aren't we describing the Diamonds in the way they most likely would've been by the gempire? In White's case, she cites the fact that everything bad that has ever happened in the series - from creating the Empire's oppressive system, all the way to Pink defecting and the harm that drove Steven unto this state - was all because of her. Her shoulders aren't as large when she actually appears. Both also tend to be insensitive and dismissive of other gems, but while Pink is Innocently Insensitive , White's condescension is both intentional and from a genuine belief she is perfect. Touched by Greg's sympathy, Blue Diamond abducted him to take him to Pink's Zoo believing she was sparing him from the Cluster, obviously unaware of its then-inconceivable nullification a while before her visit. And this is why [Pink] left, isn't it? You need to login to do this. The ship slightly rocked, having been stopped by a powerful force. Later, it's shown that despite their alleged equal standing, White is obviously the one in charge.

It's only when Steven shows her she's not as perfect as she believes she is that it's possible to reason with her at all. Spoilers will be present! She is superior, you are inferior; no other complications need taint the relationship. Yellow Diamond came in and was visibly annoyed, telling Blue she should still shatter all of Pink's Rose Quartz Gems because she was supposedly shattered by one of them but Blue wished to preserve all of Pink's Gems and her legacy as a whole. Retired Monster : They were all dictators that ruled for several millennia. This turns out to be true of White as well, not only holding everyone else up to impossible standards Lonely at the Top : Because they genuinely believe themselves superior to, and different from, everyone else, they only have each other. When Era 2 began most of the Quartzes made on Earth took over Pink's zoo in her memory. Lapis Lazuli , who was imprisoned in a mirror was protected from exposure to the light; Bismuth , who was similarly imprisoned via being bubbled was inadvertently protected; Amethyst , who was still incubating was also protected from the light. A crowd with the courts of the original four Diamonds. She towers over Steven within her Headship and acts as though everything that has happened for the past 6, years was just a childish game Pink Diamond was playing, not even allowing Steven to get a word in edgewise, all with a condescending tone. Manipulative Bitch : She tries to convince Steven that the Crystal Gems are simple crutches to Pink, as they are less perfect than her, making Pink feel better by comparison, which is untrue in every sense of the word. Some Gems, like the Diamonds and those who served her, continued mourning her and showing animosity towards Rose, not knowing they were one and the same. Taken up to eleven in "Reunited" , where Blue and Yellow are shown in combat for the first time.
