He has long reach on many attacks and decent frame data, giving him a solid neutral and combo game. His Piranha Plant , in addition to enhancing his combos, offers great stage control while also giving him a way to effectively zone out his opponents when used in conjunction with the Waluigi Dice. He has a strong recovery overall, as his Whirluigi travels a long vertical distance while his Purple Torpedo grants him extra horizontal distance. His edgeguarding tools are versatile, as he can choose to play it safe with his projectiles from onstage or use any of his aerials to great effect offstage. He also has decent KO moves like forward smash , up smash , forward air , forward throw , and sweetspotted Whirluigi. However, Waluigi has poor traction, which makes him difficult to control and makes followups out of shield more difficult due to the extended pushback.
