The Mad Titan built his intergalactic army from the ground-up and has proven time and again to be a genius tactician. I think I'll modify this to Post-Crisis instead; I know there were some impressive feats in that era. If worst came to worst, Superman would have no problem calling on his friends for help Superman never gives up when lives are on the line.
