One of the things that we really wanted to experience on our trip to Walt Disney World was Disney Springs and in particular some of its most popular restaurants for families, the boathouse reviews. Disney Springs is home to so many restaurants and it can be hard to decide where to eat out, but we are so glad that The Boathouse restaurant was highly recommended to us before our trip.

As a 2-credit Signature Restaurant, the Boathouse is a poor use of a counter service credit if you are looking to Maximize Value on the Disney Dining Plan. Beyond this, the Boathouse has taken its fair share of criticism from a Disney blogging corps with insufficient material to cover and excessive snark. We also latched onto an sample menu that leaked out, and some of the seemingly absurd prices on it. Add to that steep pricing, short duration, and seating for only 3?! Of course, all would be forgiven if the ambiance and food measured up…. We finally headed to the Boathouse a few months after it opened after hearing feedback from several friends that the food did, in fact, measure up. On our first visit, we arrived at the restaurant just before 11 p.

First of all, as I mentioned above, this is a seafood restaurant. And as you may have guessed, that means you can expect quite a bit of nautical decor. Each of the dining spaces is decorated with fun little fish-themed and boat-themed tchotchkes and trinkets. I found myself looking around the room and just taking it all in multiple times. When I was led to my table, I noticed that each table is set with cloth napkins, silverware, glasses, and a cloth tablecloth. Outside, the tables on the patios that wrap around the restaurant literally seat hundreds of people. This large patio was recently covered with an awning , so The Boathouse now has a higher seating capacity on rainy days. There are tables all along the dock leading to that bar. If you want the fancy vibes, request to sit indoors. If you want things a bit more casual, I would recommend the outside tables. I was given three separate menus throughout the meal with different offerings, and the main menu itself was so big that it was hard to fit it all in one picture. The main menu with the raw bar, appetizers, and entrees is covered in pretty much every kind of seafood that you can think of.

I did not think my food was very good. From the communal seating to the live music to the boat motors adorning the walls, it feels like a trendy bar. Raspberry Point.
