When Scooter wants to perform a musical number with Muppy, the favorite pet of Muppet Theatre owner J. Grosse, Kermit grudgingly agrees, and even gives Muppy star billing and his own dressing room. Fozzie comes up with a new act — jokes on any subject — that he practices on everyone at the theatre, driving them nuts! But, in the end, the mechanical frog is no match for the real one! When the backstage phone rings and Fozzie answers it, he and Kermit are launched on a running gag that escalates with each call. But even though Fozzie loves surprises, all running jokes must come to an end…especially with Animal around! Kermit reluctantly hires Scooter, a kid who shows up eager to work as a gofer…and whose uncle, J. Grosse, happens to own the Muppet Theatre.
