Amid all the paper, you'll find cookbooks, desk accessories, stuffed animals, pens, jewelry, and more. The cheerful ambiance, attentive customer service, and creative offerings make this paper store a standout shopping destination. But over on Grand Avenue, it's the name of a letterpress that's long been a hub for First and Third Friday activity. Owner Nancy Hill welcomes the artsy crowds in a hands-on way that few businesses do, setting up letterpress printers where people can try their hand at small prints or coasters. Other times, people pop in to order wedding invitations, shop for text-based gifts, or take workshops that bring a dash more creativity to their lives. The shop prints personal as well as commercial stationery, business cards, broadsides, and more. Simply put, life is better with letterpress love. The Paper Place has led the way in finding new and specialised art and paper markets. From the beginning the owners recognised a need to supply surrounding schools and the community with affordable and reputable art and paper supplies. With the onset of desktop computing a greater demand for The Paper Place's decorative and specialist papers emerged. A growing customer base were now seeking out premium quality papers which could be used with home and work place printers. Over time the business focus shifted to meet the demands of a growing decorative and specialist paper trade and in doing so a passion and expertise for the industry also developed. Today, we currently stock over different designer and art papers, together with an extensive colour range of matching standard and non-standard sized envelopes. Our paper and card stock, sourced both domestically and imported from around the world, can easily be transformed into personalised wedding invitations, special event invites and decorative paper arts. To complement our extensive collection of designer paper, card and envelope stock we now offer traditional printing services. Teaming up with local artisan printer George Freakes, The Paper Place has now begun producing stunning results for customers who want their announcements to stand out beyond a digital print finish.
