The Pullman Restaurant review. Disclaimer: I was a guest of the venue and did not pay for the meal. However, what follows is an honest review and account of my experience.

Fully equipped with brass luggage racks and mahogany paneling, the carriages are as impressive as the menu, which highlights wild game, fish, and beef. The hotel itself is head and shoulders above most others when it comes to luxury and character; and their fabulous, one of a kind, dining room is no exception. The room itself is made up of two original carriages from the world famous Orient Express. The carriages have been restored and marvelously decorated and displayed in their new home on the grounds of the Glenlo Abbey Hotel with views of the fabulous estate and the picturesque Lough Corrib. The majority of the herbs used in the restaurant are grown on site at the Hotel and their meats come only from dependable Irish sources, many of which are local, which can be all be traced from farm to fork, so to speak. The whole experience of dining aboard the Pullman screams class and sophistication, and, on my visit, all of the other diners seemed to recognize that sharp dress was the appropriate attire for this particular carriage ride. Not that dinner at the Pullman is a stuffy occasion, by any means, but the atmosphere might lose some of its magic if jeans and plaid abounded.
The whole place is brimming with character!
Set in two carriages, one of which is an original from the Orient Express called Leona and also has a Hollywood credit as it was used in the film Murder On The Orient Express, it really would be hard to find a dining spot with more history. As an Agatha Christie fan, the history of the train was exciting enough and as we approached the Pullman Restaurant for the first time, it was impossible not to smile. The dark green carriages stand out against the golf course and while admittedly somewhat of a random thing to find in Galway, they also strangely seem to blend in perfectly. After picking a wine we were served our tasty and very generously sized starters goats cheese and pork cheek before ordering mains. The turbot was perfectly cooked while the beef fillet was also delicious with a wonderful puree to complement it. However, the highlight of the meal was the chocolate bomb dessert which I could have easily eaten another of. It was delicious and a perfectly indulgent way to end a very memorable meal.
Balongue demonstrates her knack for tying together fabrics, patterns and textures to orchestrate a distinct destination. The seat interior is anchored by a double-sided, floor-to-ceiling bar and lounge, where romantic lighting and live music centered around a blue baby grand piano combine for a smooth speakeasy ambiance. The rear of the restaurant faces the tracks, providing front-row views of trains whooshing by. Cushy caramel-colored booths and vibrant velvet-lined banquettes provide the coziness and intimacy required to fully indulge in the nostalgic presentations of talented executive chef Corey Baver. New American options include a colorful Florida yellowtail snapper presentation with olives, capers and cherry tomatoes. Start things off with a crisp wedge salad or a velvety-soft burrata appetizer. Tuesday—Sunday, you can enjoy select drinks and elevated bar nibbles. The decadent tempura lobster bites come with a zippy mustard sauce that pairs equally well with a vibrant blueberry mimosa or a classic Old Fashioned.

This is our favorite place! From food to sevice. Whether you are at the bar or dining in the back, the staff make you feel warm and welcomed like you are visiting friends. Made fresh daily by one of the best pastry chefs on the east coast. I can not say enough about this place.

They are all so decadent. If you ever plan a visit from London you should let me know and we can go together. Both the dining experience in the Pullman Restaurant and the afternoon tea were very memorable and I would wholeheartedly recommend booking either one or both. It had soon vanished along with its brown sugar crust and homemade biscuits, leaving himself with nothing but a smile. The afternoon tea that is now served in the River Room restaurant in the Glenlo Abbey Hotel is very similar to the one I had onboard the Pullman Restaurant. You might also enjoy my review of Longueville House, Mallow. Wow, what an interesting ambience and feel. The turbot was perfectly cooked while the beef fillet was also delicious with a wonderful puree to complement it. National Parks.
