Dalwood , Devon View on map. The colourful summer window boxes, hanging baskets and tubs outside this cream-washed and thatched medieval longhouse are really charming. Inside, you'll find a genuine welcome from the good-humoured staff. The flagstoned bar is very cosy, kept warm by a big inglenook log fireplace. Also, heavy beams, traditional furnishings including assorted dining chairs, window seats and wall settles, numerous horsebrasses and a cheerful, bustling atmosphere. The back bar has an enormous collection of miniature bottles and there's also a more formal dining room; lots of copper implements and platters. Branscombe Vale Branoc, Exeter Avocet and Otter Bitter on handpump, several wines by the glass and up to 20 malt whiskies; background music and a double skittle alley. There are seats in the garden, and the pub the oldest building in the parish after the church is surrounded by narrow high-hedged lanes and hilly pasture countryside. Text Field. Tuckers Arms. THE best roast I have ever eaten! I went with my son on the last night of our walking weekend and were looking at the menu when the lovely waitress said they had a roast beef on offer which we both chose. I had a But then the roast turned up and it was simply delicious with a large selection of veg all which tasted equally delicious especially the cauliflower cheese. My son had a desert and chose the cherry jam and almond sponge pudding with vanilla ice cream. The whole meal was absolutely fantastic. Great service and good ales.
