Face-to-face pastoral care is clearly almost impossible now and hospital or aged care visiting likewise. Our church council has had to make some very challenging decisions over the last few weeks and things have, and continue to, change rapidly. Our Sunday church was live streamed on March 23 for the first time.

As people joined the live stream we welcomed them to church. For our Sunday service, we chose to use a live stream on our Facebook page rather than a closed group, largely for access, but the engagement of the livestream was way beyond, hundreds more, than the number that would attend church.

Mount Eliza is a seaside suburb on the Mornington Peninsula in Melbourne , Victoria , Australia , 42 km 26 mi south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District , located within the Shire of Mornington Peninsula local government area. At The Village Church we encourage our members to contribute to the life of the church, serving in areas for which they are gifted. Our minister and Church Leaders welcome the opportunity to speak with you about your gifts and help you discern where you might best be able to serve the church. Commitment to the community through volunteer service is a vital aspect of who we are as Christian people. The Village Church provides opportunities for people to serve through our weekly rosters and community programs, both at the church and beyond in the wider community. The ministry of The Village Church is totally funded through the regular giving of our church members. The Village Church also makes a contribution to the ministry of the wider Uniting Church and its community services.
