Why is The Wirecutter bad? What are the specific reasons and where do you go for a similar service other than Consumer Reports? I feel like Wirecutter stopped or reduced doing long-term use testing of their products at some point, after which the recommendations just focused on features rather than including things like build quality, reliability, customer support, etc. When I look up Wirecutter's recommended products on Amazon now, more often than not I see lots of comments about how it died after a few weeks or months, terrible customer service, etc. Unfortunately I haven't found an alternative. Personally I've gotten a couple recommendations from them where their recommended item fell apart soon after purchase.

These are the same gadgets I'd recommend to my friends and family, and these are the same gadgets I'd choose for myself. Oct 2, [6]. If you crave a slow-sinking, pressure-relieving mattress that will cradle you all night, a foam mattress might be just right. Good news: Your dishwasher should get every dish completely clean, almost every time you run it—without your prerinsing the dishes before you load them. Even if your dishwasher is a low performer, you can probably get it to work well if you make a few tweaks to your routine. In a study by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory PDF , over half of the respondents reported that they rinsed their dishes before loading them into the dishwasher. Despite what you may have been told in the past, prerinsing is not necessary. Modern dishwashers have never been better at removing grime. This, coupled with enzymatic detergents, which are designed to attack soils, all but ensures a thorough clean. Remember to be realistic, though: Philip Voglewede, a mechanical engineering professor at Marquette University who formerly worked in the dishwasher division of Whirlpool Corporation, emphasized that if a food is challenging to wash off by hand, you can expect your dishwasher to be challenged, too.
