Growing up, I was a part of the Girl Guide Organization. Besides selling cookies, which we all know and love, we experienced a lot of different group activities, including camping. Combine this with camping with my family, and I have a treasure hold of fond memories. I can remember roasting marshmallows, sleeping bags in shared tents, and singing songs around the campfire, all of which I can still recite today if you asked me to. As a Miltonian, we are fortunate to be home to and nearby many conservation areas known for their outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, and skiing. What you may not know, however, is that there are loads of camping opportunities nearby! Rattlesnake Point is one of my favourite nature reserves to visit. I love to hike the trails, immerse myself in the tall cedars that line the paths, and take in the panoramic views. Rattlesnake Point offers conservation-area camping on mowed grass, perfect for pitching tents. Yet, you are still surrounded by lush forests.
