Further driving and I realized the vents were blowing hot air and the light on the AC button was flashing not fun when it was upper 90's. This is the continuous behavior; light is solid for a few seconds when initially turned on and then flashes. I looked at the belt and saw no obvious signs but I didn't have the time to jack it up and look through the wheel well. What I'm trying to avoid is buying a lot of parts that don't solve the problem. If anyone has advice on steps to take, I'd appreciate it. I saw Sweeney's guide to changing the serpentine belt and I'm hoping that's all it is. I'd read that it can sense if the belt is slipping and that can cause the light to flash. Any advice is much appreciated. Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions. So either the belt is worn out and slipping cracks, deep grooves, etc More likely the belt is worn, and its a cheap replacement to try.

This started by noise from the clutch on the compressor. It has however been replaced. The AC relay has also been checked and replaced. Yet the light still blinks.
