Boston Dining: Tremont My husband and I recently had dinner at Tremont , a chef owned restaurant in the South End. The bar was quite busy for a Sunday night, and the restaurant filled up over the course of the evening. We were sat at a high-top in the bar area which had one seat that was a stool, but it was suprisingly comfortable. We decided to split the Tuna Tartare as an appetizer, which was well seasoned and just the right size for a light app. While the entree selection was small, all of the items merited serious consideration. We split the Country-fried Pork Chop and the Hake. The Pork was cooked well, but the star of the dish was the collared greens, which were braised with chunks of slab bacon, apple cider vinegar and maybe a little maple syrup. The Hake was considerably lighter, but equally as delicious with an edamame puree and scallion sauce which was really just sliced scallions.
