Suggested by Luux , November 3, Troodons are one of the most left in the dust creatures in the game as far as any useful mechanics are concerned. Not only are they a pack based creature that is very low on the food chain but they are one of the most difficult or rather annoying tames just based on the preparations and conditions needed tk even tame them. Unfortunately, in comparison to how much effort it takes to get them, they hardly make up for it and end up being pretty low on the roster of creatures people will think of using. Because in my opinion it needs one a lot. Almost as much as the Therizino needs a role assessment and overhaul. Troodons are pack creatures and operate best when unimpeded and allowed to take advantage of their element, swarming and quick damage that can quickly weaken and overcome underprepared enemies. Because of this they are most effective at night, when they get buffed and their pack buff on top of possible mate boost makes them strongest. They should be usable without this however. Furthermore many other pack based creatures overshadow them, mainly because they are rideable or larger. This coupling with their difficult taming method makes it extremely unlikely someone will even ever tame one let alone enough to even use.

It understands meaningful experiences much more quickly than other creatures including humans , and its social nature means it also teaches its packmates, making them more clever too. It specifically pack-hunts at night when we are most vulnerable, and sees humans as its primary prey. Thankfully, Troodon is fairly small. Were it larger, it might well have become the dominant creature of its ecosystem. I thought Troodon simply could not be tamed, until I finally saw a lone survivor with one. Ever since, I have wondered at the benefits that a pack of ultra-smart, bred-for-battle Troodon may bring to a tribe brave enough to earn the favor of these clever carnivores. This is going to be fun.

The Troodon Magnanimus is a carnivore that was seen during the late Cretaceous period that has a very aggressive behavior at night. This creature is capable of dealing torpor damage to enemies it attacks, knocking them out and keeping them paralyzed with continuous attacks. Troodon do not usually pose much of a threat during the morning and will only attack those that get to near it but when nightfall comes, it turns into a very aggressive predator. These creatures will attack humans that get within range but during the night, they will seek to attack even at further distances due to their night aggressiveness. Taming a Troodon can be a hard task but in the end, it pays off with the torpor attacks and its ability to track enemies and different types of item containers. Troodon are considered one of the smartest creatures around as they learn quickly and seem to be able to teach similar members of their pack in a way, making them altogether work efficiently as a group. Not only is the intelligence of the Troodon shown by its actions but also its skill is visible by the way it can work together with others and how it can effectively execute strategic attacks even when alone. Troodon are some of the hardest creatures to tame because their loyalty is not easily earned as they require more of a sacrifice rather than domestication to befriend a survivor or tribe. These will later on be shown by a marker which is visible to those that are nearby the Troodon and make it easier to track survivors, tames and items nearby and even further away.

I get a high level tamed Dino knocked out and weak but the fidgety little bastard won't attack.
