After a nice flight from Houston , I had an overnight layover before my flight onward to Manchester. Thanks to Turkish Airlines generous offer of a hotel during my layover, I stayed at the Renaissance Polat Hotel near the airport. Unlike most airlines flying in Europe, Turkish still maintains a true Business Class cabin on many of their flights, with wide seats, rather than just a blocked middle seat. It was a nice treat when flying intra-Europe. Shortly after getting to my room, some fresh juice was delivered which was a nice touch.

I recently flew one of the three daily Manchester to Istanbul flights. This was operated using the Airbus A, giving a good test of its business class cabin on a decently long flight. Turkish Airlines flies several times daily from Manchester to Istanbul. This contrasts flag-carrier British Airways , which only operates from London Heathrow. This flight was on the narrowbody Airbus A , but the airline operates many of its flights with widebody aircraft the schedule is generally quite accurate with minimal operational changes after booking.

This is in sharp contrast to most European airlines, including British Airways its Club Europe cabin is pictured below. Breakfast as the meal was strange as the meal is served well into lunchtime.

There is a full entertainment package, similar to what you would find on long-haul flights. There are good-sized seatback screens, and good headsets were provided. As you know from my previous Turkish Airlines flight reports, meal time on Turkish is always a party in the sky! Flight TK Trays were collected exactly an hour after being handed out. I dozed off for a few hours. I look forward to many more flights with Turkish Airlines. We were on the ground in Istanbul for pm and I looked forward to my transit as it would give me the chance to discover the new gateway between West and East!
