Matt Donovan was a part of The Vampire Diaries for the show's entirety, but there are things about his character that audiences hated. The Vampire Diaries had several supporting characters that were not received well, to say the least. For instance, Elena Gilbert was the character that audiences loved to hate, but Matt is a close second. That's not to say that there was nothing good about him.
