Given that Twilight Princess has remained one of Zelda 's most popular games alongside the likes of Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild , it has long been hoped that a future game would revisit the Twilight Realm and its people, either as a sequel or a spiritual successor. For example, when Breath of the Wild included the Arbiter's Grounds, speculation ran wild theorizing Tears of the Kingdom would tie into Twilight Princess , demonstrating that fans still wanted more even a decade later. Therefore, with Zelda 's acclaimed Era of the Wilds potentially over, now might be time for the Interlopers to make a comeback.

The Nintendo Wii classic is the fourth highest-rated game in The Legend of Zelda series , but it is trapped on non-modern consoles. This year is the 35th anniversary of the beloved series, but Nintendo does not seem to have much planned with Zelda in mind. The Nintendo Switch is a smashing success with around 80 million units having been sold and software sales that have been record-breaking in many cases. There is a yearning for more Zelda, and Twilight Princess can be that answer. But Twilight Princess is an interesting game in that it had a recent second chance; it is just likely that not many were able to try it. It is very possible that many younger Nintendo fans have never had the opportunity to enjoy the grim take on Zelda and Link. However, with the Wii U not performing as well as most Nintendo home consoles, the game still did not get in the hands of many players.
