They had their happy ever after, they had their daughter Lyndy, after years of hard work they fulfilled a dream of starting a business together and were building a family home. So that begs the question; if such a long running show has gained popularity and longevity based off of a relationship between its two main characters , should the show still continue if one character can no longer be there? I honestly believe no. But the producers knew that divorcing the two was not realistic and fans would not accept it, leaving them with a choice to make.
