It states on the science coop website that we must complete all four work terms equiv. How important is the co-op designation as opposed to just stating allblackanal your resume that you've worked with your employer for a certain time? The reason I am asking is because I would love to go ubc science co-op co-op but a 16 month commitment means I will have to give up 2 summers, ubc science co-op, during which I would like to venture other opportunities

This post is a reflection on my experience through all stages of the co-op process from student to employer. Tobi: I am currently studying computer science, statistics, and mathematics at UBC. What makes Copperleaf stand out from other co-op experiences? Ian: What makes Copperleaf stand out is their active efforts to ensure the best experience for co-ops and other employees. They even have a ping pong table!

UBC Science Co-op works closely with local, national, and international employers to develop challenging, career-related positions for our students. Co-operative Education Co-op integrates students' academic education classroom-based learning with relevant, supervised, and paid work experience work-based learning. During a placement, the student will be supervised, evaluated, and paid by an employer. Undergraduate students earn a degree with the Co-operative Education designation by completing the required number of work terms in addition completing the regular academic requirements in a department. A Co-op work term does not replace, or add academic course credits for that term, and the credits do not count towards graduation. For most programs, being a UBC Science Co-op student will extend the student's degree program by one year. You should consult an academic advisor in your respective department to determine graduation eligibility.

What new skills have you developed from this experience? Peter A. Anita: Whether it is taking teammates out to try new foods or starting an acappella group, I am always able to find Copperleafers who are open to trying anything new, even though it may not seem like their cup of tea.
