Veteran darktide build
Stacks 5 times. Might adjust some minor talents as I pick up the game again this winter break, though all key talents remain unchanged since patch
Warhammer 40, Darktide 's Veteran class is the quintessential frontline soldier — quick on their feet and versatile at all ranges, these hardened commandos make sure they win the fights they bring to the enemies of Mankind. The Veteran is the perfect class for players who love both ranged and melee combat, which Warhammer 40, Darktide has plenty of. This build, however, caters to a sniper-like playstyle that's meant for taking down important targets before they can do any harm to the team. Updated November 16, , by Marc Santos: This build guide has been updated to reflect the changes introduced in the Traitor Curse Anniversary Patch, which added keystone skills for the Veteran class. Playing the role of a backline marksman was the original design for the Veteran class. With Patch 13's class overhaul and the addition of Veteran keystone skills in Patch 14, players can now take skills that further enforce this long-ranged playstyle, eliminating priority targets from relative safety to give their team some more breathing room. The following skill build focuses on maximizing the Veteran's ranged damage potential while offering some nice quality-of-life improvements in melee combat.

Quickly put together some builds that have actually been tested in Damnation to Auric. Add your own. There are more descriptions in the builds themselves. Hard to use, and requires either team support or gameplay with little to no mistakes. Features the MK I which feels very good with the new breakpoints, but I feel like it lacks in damage versatility, and survivability though that second one is a pervasive issue of the class itself when trying to play it as a sharpshooter. Think melee vet of patch 13, but way better for more effort. It's great. It will be very familiar to those who played bounty hunter in Vermintide 2. I think this is probably the most reliable sniper style build that unfortunately doesn't even have executioners stance which is currently a bit too hard to use in stressful situations which come up a bit more often.
Conversely, if you were to mark a target too early with low stacks, you are able to 'refresh' the mark to veteran darktide build that higher damage bonus. It's ease of use, larger effective radius, and respectable damage makes it a tool to be used both offensively and defensively, and is something you can and should abuse for every fight. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

As their name implies, the Veteran Marksman is a dedicated ranged class in Warhammer 40, Darktide. From a high vantage point or just from behind the rest of the team, the Marksman's job is to thin enemy numbers with precise shots while looking out for larger foes like Dregs and Pox Hounds. In addition to providing covering fire and suppressing enemy gunners, the Veteran Marksman is best suited to coordinating the team's efforts. When a Marksman designates a group target, the rest of the team should focus on bringing them down quickly. Read on to become your team's designated deadeye! The Veteran Marksman's inherent class abilities are centered around dealing heavy damage from long range, particularly through headshots. Like the other characters in Darktide, Veteran Marksmen receive a new Feat slot every fifth level. You can change your equipped feats from the hub between missions, but only one Feat from each level can be equipped at a time.

The Imperial Guard is the Hammer of the Emperor, the unending ranks of soldiers with which the Imperium of man does battle. The Veteran has the ability to adopt a shooting stance, giving their ranged combat a boost and outlining key targets for the other players. The Veteran has health and Toughness, making it the second-healthiest class of the four at base, but has fewer options for sustaining that health back compared to some other classes.

If you can tag it you should bag it yourself. Gets Hot! Is it optimal? Players can take any melee weapon they prefer, though one with good horde-clear strength is preferred. Yeah none of these builds give me back the play style I had before. This higher maximum is best applied against tougher targets like crushers and monstrosities, but isn't super necessary for most other threats. Though I tend to use a dagger over the devil's claw. Also focus target is a good perk. Similar to shredder grenades but without the harsh range falloff, and sporting stagger that can better affect mutants and monstrosities, a VoC shout will instantly floor and otherwise interrupt everything that threatens your team. Edit: and by good perk I mean it is better than standing still and having to constantly move to get behind cover and swap weapons constantly. Players can maintain full stacks even while moving as long as they are constantly scoring weakspot kills. As such, there is a delicate balance between keeping a mark applied to the tankiest enemies so as to gain full damage benefits, and shifting it to those new and immediate threats that could potentially ruin a run.
The best Darktide Veteran build sets you up to take on the worst that chaos can throw at you, with an array of ranged weapons that makes them specialists at sniping. If you want to stay on top and see your team through to the end of the mission, just remember to constantly be sniping down dangerous elite enemies. The Veteran Sharpshooter is great at cleaning up elite enemies from a distance, knocking them out with the Volley Fire ability before they can grind your team up to make exceptionally chaotic bread.

Note that applied focus stacks are not additive. If the above is looking a touch complicated, I wouldn't worry too much. As above, choices for melee weapons are largely up to preference, though I'd still advise planning with specific goals in mind. There are more descriptions in the builds themselves. Shredder Grenades are preferred over Krak Grenades since Helbore Lasguns are already great at punching through armor. Is it optimal? Add your own. Enjoy the builds.
