Now that you have gathered your supplies, you are ready to start drawing vines! I like to start by sketching out the general shape of the vine using a light pencil. Welcome to this step-by-step guide on how to draw a vine. Whether you are an experienced artist or just starting out, drawing a vine can be a fun and rewarding exercise. The goal here is to make it look like there are two twisty sections snaking over each other, so the parts you erase will need to be fairly specific. Top Edge Draw the top edge of this leaf coming from the stem. Round Tip Add a rounded tip to the leaf in the lower left using a similar method as the last rounded leaf. Once they are erased, take your pen and go over all the remaining lines until it looks as it does in our reference image. You could even have the vines growing up on a creepy mansion fence for a spookier feeling. Step 4 — Now finish off the curvy planning line For this fourth part of your vines drawing, you will be using your pencil for the last time before we start using a pen for the final lines. Complete Leaf Finish up the bottom left leaf by adding the lower edge lines. Add central lines to all the leaves using the same method as the previous one. Finish up the leaf by drawing a line that returns back to the stem. Step 8. Balance The vine looks slightly off balance right now because its very heavy towards the right, lets fix this by adding a leaf above the large leaf to the left. Be sure to also express your creativity by adding some more details, elements and color choices of your own! Draw the top edge of this leaf coming from the stem.
