You have probably passed by it loads of times without realising if you frequent China Town. It is located upstairs from the Wazuzhi Sushi place on Faulkner Street.
Place : Wasabi, China Town, Manchester. With friends or alone, this is the place I normally go to when I need a quick sushi fix. But not only this, the times I have visited I have always got my favourite type of sushi readily available on the belt, always been able to sit straight down and start munching, great service, the lot. But on this occasion, that the first time I go to review, many things seemed to slip. One thing that never fails to impress me however, is how inexpensive Wasabi is considering the quality and quantity. I always opt for the Set Menu A and Fiona did the same. If you were to get all your plates with sushi, you could have 12 pieces and soup for under a tenner and even leave a tip.

Wasabi has three restaurants in Manchester, one in Chinatown, one in the Printworks and one in The Quadrangle. Both the Printworks and the Chinatown venues are much of a muchness when it comes to interior fixtures and fittings; both have a sushi conveyor belt with seating for approximately 20 people, the Printworks venue has a number of booths to seat 4 people, whilst the Chinatown venue has an upstairs seating area with restaurant style tables and chairs. You can order sushi at these areas but they are much more suited for ordering a la carte. For the best sushi experience, you need to be seated at the conveyor belt and enjoy the view of all the delicious dishes passing you by. The Chinatown venue also has a dessert room, serving crepes, sago and snow ice. Set A — 6 plates from the conveyor belt, 1 bowl of miso soup Set B — 3 plates from the conveyor belt, 1 noodle or rice dish from the selection. I usually go for Set A, the 6 plates and the miso soup whilst my girlfriend usually has set B, 3 plates and chicken katsu curry, she never eats it all so I get some of the curry too — bonus! If you like fish, you will like eel. There is a good selection of drinks on the menu at Wasabi and they specialise in bubble tea, but we usually opt for sparkling water or the green tea which includes free refills. Since the closure of Samsi at Spinningfields the only other sushi restaurant I know with a conveyor belt is Yo Sushi but that is much much more expensive than Wasabi. I do find the assortment of furniture a bit odd with it largely being stools and tables, then a random sofa at the wasabi chinatown manchester. My favourites are the snow ices and the tofu dessert, the latter of which can be served either hot or cold, with original or ginger syrup. Non-necessary Non-necessary. There is a lot of choice from more Westernised waffles and chocolate fondants, to very Eastern soup desserts and tofu desserts. China Town.
