Baldur's Gate 3 is not without drama between party members. After recruiting Wyll and Karlach, they have a tense moment where one has to decide if they're going to kill the other. If you have Lae'zel in your party when you visit the Githyanki patrol near the exit of the mountain pass at the far northwest of the map in Act 1, a cutscene will trigger with Lae'zel jumping to meet the commander of the Githyanki. You can get this sword from him at this juncture but only if you don't bring Lae'zel to talk to him. Having Lae'zel in your party will prevent you from having the ability to attack him and force him to drop the sword. The dragon rider will demand that Lae'zel join in the hunt for an artifact of great value. Both Lae'zel and Shadowheart will realize that the artifact in question is the one that Shadowheart is carrying. It doesn't matter how you resolve the encounter with the Githyanki patrol.

Luckily, there is a way to resolve this event peacefully and keep both Lae'zel and Shadowheart as companions and potential love interests.

It is understandable if you are a little weary about calling her an ally. After all, she would sooner leave you for dead in some instances. While you have no choice but to team up with her while you are on the Nautiloid, you can choose to leave her behind after the fact. In some instances, you can even choose to kill her or let her die. For starters, you need to know, when you have the opportunity to let her die.
