What is constant power mode in lightburn

At the start of engraving, the power of the laser is so strong that it almost burns out the material.

For some reason I am getting a constant power supply fed to my laser even through the whitespace of my burns. PWM seems to be working fine because Im getting a variation in burns. Im not sure what else to do. Is there a min power setting in lightburn that im just missing? As you pointed out, the power is changing. If the numbers are set properly it would have to be something the pwm is doing.

For 2 , and engraving, I assume I got my minimum power too low? Do the Atomstacks need a pretty high minimum power? Am I barking up the wrong tree? Threw away the pieces too soon. In a nutshell, I was doing line art. As far as the cuts go, the attached picture shows the backside of the cut.

EDIT: Had to make a correction after reworking some of the math. If your machine does not have homing switches also called limit switches you will need to home it manually if you want to use Absolute Coords or User Origin modes.

Regarding constant power mode, regardless of my interpretation of it which I copied from a light burn explanation nonetheless, it seems odd that Constant power mode would make it skip random lines. So if Mr. It is highly configurable, and this is both a blessing and a curse. Update your K40 FluidNC shield. This will show the settings in plain text, requiring more familiarity with what each command means but allowing you to view the configuration directly, without any chance of mislabeling based on custom vendor configurations. I misunderstood your explanation that this occurred with the Illustrator import after 9 successful burns. Did you do this as a line or fill operation? So, along with a friend, we did some testing and between the two of us mostly him we discovered something: the lines that skipped were each in Constant Power mode. Started to notice some things;. Do you use constant power mode? Next time, the 9th line would skip.

Hi all… I busy with my trial with lightburn. For some reason I found out that my laser power is a lot weaker while using lightburn… When I use laserweb I use same setting but it but lots stronger and as well deeper… Not sure why s value is by both settings in lightburn already.

MascotGraphics Michael June 26, , pm 2. As soon as I de-selected Constant Power, then all lines burned completely. For advanced configuration like adding limit switches, updating firmware, or setting up a new controller, you'll need to interact with these values. If you aren't sure how to configure your machine, the following steps will help you figure it out. You can also export these settings to a file for later restoration, like we did in our GRBL flashing guide. We do not currently as of LightBurn 1. Please read this post on before connecting your machine :. At the bottom of the Cut Settings Editor, there are three buttons to manage layer default settings. Have any modifications been made to the machine? Can you make a small job, confirm the problem on your end, zip the gcode file, and post it here to see if I can reproduce the problem? Selecting any other option will dither the image, making it dots, as such the laser will simply turn off and on at your given power. Both machines, however, are Ortur, so for now, turning off Constant Power has resolved it for me. Appreciate any help!
