They are artificial beings with biological bits and pieces that are tasked with a multitude of things across the universe. They are a closed-species, created and run by Malice-risu on FA — and the only way to obtain a Primagen is to bid on the auctions they occasionally hold on their FA page. And let me tell you, those auctions are no joke! It can get really crazy. Seems like everyone wants to get their hands on one, but, with prices reaching what they do…it seems that Primagen are only for the extremely dedicated or the extremely rich.

Who created protogens

A Protogen is a fictional, open species of furry created by Fur Affinity user Malice-Risu notable for being part-organic-part-machine. They are an extension of the closed Primagen species created by the same user, with common and uncommon Protogen's being open to creation and more affordable in auction than Primagens. Protogen's are notably desirable in the furry community and a popular subject of memes. The Primagen [1] is the precursor to the Protogen. According to Primagen lore, the species is about 70 percent artificial and 30 percent organic and comes from another universe, depicted as a raptor-like cyborg in most reference sheets with digital visors over their faces shown below. On April 8th, , Malice-Risu invented the "Protogen" species, an extension of the Primagen which is notably less artificial, being about 40 percent artificial vs. This gives them a more animal-like appearance over Primagen's, which features more tech. Protogen's are an open species, meaning anyone can make a Protogen variant as long as they avoid making "rare varieties" of the species. Within the lore, Primagens and Protogens were artificially created by the Premogenitor race within a deep space biotech facility in the universe known as ZOR Zenith's Outer Reach. Their intended purpose was for planetary and space exploration, aided by their cyborg nature. Protogen are considered an earlier prototype of their Primagen cousins and thus, both have differences that make them distinct from one another. Protogen were initially used by the Premogenitor as slaves, rendered subservient by microcrystals implanted within their cerebral fluid. As Protogen continued to advance with more complex components being added, this overloaded the microcrystals and allowed a Protogen uprising to occur. Eventually, Protogen created a society on a moon and were able to live freely and independently.
