Microsoft has been trying to make things better with the Windows 10 update process, but a few things keep going awry. A new issue has been reported that is affecting Remote Desktop users running the latest Windows 10 May Update with older display drivers. Some of these users are experiencing black screens when connecting to remote computers. I upgraded my secondary machine from to I then upgraded my primary machine to hoping that would help, but no. Fortunately I also have GoToAssist installed so I was able to log into the secondary machine that way and checked for updates, still no help. Finally I reverted it back to and Remote Desktop once again works.

My problem was for a windows 10 in vmware esxi. RDP show a black screen and very very very slow refresh of the desktop and disconnection. It was because of 3D acceleration vmware svga 3d driver. Just disable 3d in esxi and it works nice. Harder to do in a real PC So this problem is because of display driver, and not network problem like UDP protocole or whatever else.

Then trying to re-establish the connection, but the screen is still black. This time mouse cursor even stuck and not showing in the screen. View best response.
