I just got a pack of these from the Community Center, and like an idiot, I thought they were seeds that could actually be planted in winter. They, er don't seem to be growing. In case I see another pack, when are they supposed to be planted? I haven't got around to trying the winter seeds, but you generally can't plant something unless it's the correct season. I say just give it time. You can't plant a season, silly. So what with this Seasons Seeds? If I get Summer Seeds, they only be growing in Summer, right?

I had previously discounted the foragable seeds in my calculations, however that may have been premature, at least for the Winter seeds.
Stardew Guide. Winter comes all too soon in Stardew Valley , often leaving your garden looking barren and desolate. Without the Greenhouse , the unfortunate answer is that none of the typical Stardew Valley crops will grow during the Winter season. Instead, players can mainly look to forageables and Winter Seeds to keep their garden profitable throughout these chilly 28 days. These can be found naturally occurring around Pelican Town throughout the entire Winter season. While the Crocus and Crystal Fruit can be found above ground, the Winter Root and Snow Yam are buried in the dirt and must be dug up using a hoe. Note: no other tool will work for this task. Players have the best chance of digging up one of these two buried items at an Artifact Spot, but they can sometimes also be found when digging up an area of standard soil. The crystal fruit comes in as the most profitable crop for the Winter season, selling for a price range of gg depending on quality. The Snow Yam comes in as the next most profitable, selling for g.

For players looking for crops to grow during Winter, the Seed Maker comes to the rescue. Aside from the wild seeds you get from the Seed Maker, nothing else can grow during that season. This fun little item lets you get seeds out of four particular fruits, which can be used to grow the other forageable produce from that season. Crafting a Seed Maker means making it to Farming Level 9. That seems rough, but it's actually one of the first skills you're likely to get to level 9 and certainly doable in the first year if you focus on crops. The Seed Maker requires 25 wood, 10 coal, and a gold bar.
