Wok of love reviews
Many moons ago, when I was in college, I picked as many film courses as I was allowed, coz they were the coolest, and also, the funnest, and therefore, I got to watch a whole lot of movies as part of wok of love reviews curriculum. Film really was the coolest and the funnest, heh. Especially when we got to the part on animation and sat around watching cartoons together.
Hello hello hello! Not me sneaking in one more review for September! It surprised me in a lot of ways and I was seriously debating on how to rate it at the end. Wok of Love is a K-Drama that you can either watch as 19 episodes of about an hour or 38 back-to-back episodes of about 30 minutes I watched it in the latter format on Dramacool. This in itself is already quite a unique number of episodes, as K-Dramas usually tend to be a bit shorter, like 16 one-hour episodes or 32 back-to-back episodes. He is thriving and therefore not aware that within one day, his whole life will be crumbling apart. In the meantime, we also meet Mr.

Maybe because the same scriptwriter, Seo Sook Hyang, wrote both shows, and for this one she was older and more daring! Wok Of Love was a breeze to watch, the story just flew by, the cast had great chemistry together, and I laughed and giggled during each episode, and also shed a few tears. If you have watched a bunch of Korean melodramas in a row, and feel depressed, then by all means take a break and check out this laugh riot rom-com drama! It won't disappoint. It could be just what the doctor ordered to cheer you up. I watched it on Viki at this link. It found a lot of devoted fans online on the streaming sites. I think I put it off for several years just because I have to be in a special mood for a show based on characters' love of cooking! All the food dishes prepared by the characters look so delicious that those scenes encourage me to snack too much while watching, and I end up gaining weight! I read an interview of Jang Hyuk online about this show and he said he chose to do the drama because he loves to cook in real life. He also loved the way his character was written, and he enjoyed bringing him to life. This is one actor who doesn't appear in a drama unless the writing really appeals to him. Cool - Jang Hyuk.
Storyline Edit. It was way too much and did not benefit the main plot. What a waste, sadly.
Sign In. Wok of Love Hide Spoilers. First off I have to admit I'm a serious fangirl of Junho, but even though I'm slightly biased, this was a very good show with lots of twists, turns, drama, laughter, food and just plain good fun. My only criticism is that they suddenly forgot the horse for about 10 episodes seriously one of the best characters and a few differing dishes would have been nice, but all in all it was a great show and i'll totally recommend it, even if you're not a JH fangirl like me.
These Koreans very well know how to promote their food and culture through dramas. They are always eating noodles which make me crave noodles all the time. Anyway, before I get to the review I want to inform you that I have speed watched this show. My drama advisers or buddies advised me against this drama. But for some reason, I was very curious about it. I saw a few snippets of Wok of Love on YouTube which made me even more interested in it. Liking a couple of a show is one of the biggest motivations for me to watch it. When I started watching the drama, I understood why this drama was not recommended to me. So I decided to stick to just their scenes and skip the other storylines. Image Courtesy.

For the record, I watched 11 episodes of this show before calling it quits. Also for the record, I actually struggled with my watch from the get-go. Right away in episode 1, I found myself not jiving very well at all, with what Show was serving up.

Korean drama series. Particularly in the second half of the show. Reply to Ploop. In regards to the Finishing Touch kitchen staff, we have to talk a bit about Chef Wang. PennyReviews 30 July Now for what I disliked - the second half of the show is immensely better than the first. He just makes me want to hug him, lol. I feel like there are people out there who would pronounce this deep and all kinds of wonderful. My whimsy recommendations would be Big Fish and Secondhand Lions.

It started off with a lot of information and rushed character introductions. The gangster scene you mentioned for example was too much like the awful gangster scenes in SWDBS for me as well. I like Lee Mik Sook in this as well playing the part of a ditzy housewife and odd old lady. On the movie appreciation front I am back home this weekend to finally see a feature film that I was involved in behind the scenes. The fact that they basically sent in the cavalry in order to stop Poong while he was working from a tiny, gangster-run restaurant just proved to me how insecure they actually were about their own business. I knew I was going to hate everything about this show except Jang Hyuck, if course when the cartoon horse went for an all-to-long purposeless stroll. In regards to the Finishing Touch kitchen staff, we have to talk a bit about Chef Wang. Hang-ho Tae Im Geok Jeong. I think I already briefly touched on it, but I just want to comment once more that in terms of food, this series is an absolute pleasure to watch. Can this unlikely group make a successful go at the restaurant and will Seo Poong get his revenge? See the full list.
