The World Football Elo Ratings are a ranking system for men's national association football teams that is published by the website eloratings. It is based on the Elo world elo ratings system but includes modifications to take various football-specific variables into account, like the margin of victory, world elo ratings, importance of a match, and home field advantage. This module is used on the World Football Elo Ratings article to display a table of the current top 20 teams as ranked by the official website. As with the FIFA World Rankings article, the module is used instead of a conventional wikitable to prevent errors in updating, as the module is much easier and quicker to update, and also to reduce vandalism. When given a country name, the template would output the Elo ranking of a country, along with a movement indicator increase, decrease, or steady , and by how many spots a country moved in the last year, if applicable. But there is still a lot to see in the charts, and if you care about the history of football, there are interesting insights to be gained from watching the animations.
