As part of the Secret Wars event comic , Marvel revived older series and explore alternate comic universes ; one of the continuities explored was the X-Men animated series. The premier issue sold 97, issues and was the 8th highest selling issue that month. The first volume was also released under Marvel's Online Infinite Comics series in an eight-issue story arc. The team is seen living a fairly peaceful life in the Battlezone called Westchester. The baron of this region is Senator Kelly. He has little difficulty since most of the villains were wiped out in a previous war and the remaining villains were sent to "Bureau of Super-Powers" run by Cassandra Nova for rehabilitation.

I never watched much of the cartoon growing up in the 90s, but I'm almost certain those who relished in it and loved it will totally get a fun nostalgic kick out of this series.

I thought I would like this more since I loved the 90s X-Men cartoon. I would have liked to soak in the general nostalgia but the aforementioned issues prevented me from doing this. So this was not for me, what with the long boring explanatory narration and melodramatic flavor. This relatively short comic packs in a large cast of characters which makes the pages busier than I like. After a brief skirmish with the Brood, the X-Men realize they are mutants, like them, and outcasts from the rest of the Brood hive, then protect them from Gladiator and The Shi'ar [16] During the battle the X-Men steal the Shi'ar ship and return to Earth. Cassandra Nova is forcibly rehabbing the good looking X-Men, while caging the visibly mutated ones. The virus's avatar asks her is she wants to delete the vampiric DNA and convert the vampires into humans. They learn from Baron Kelly about a treatment facility for Evil Mutants and at Professor Xavier's urging they head out to ensure it's doing what it claims. Then Apocalypse and a group of mutant villains appear suggesting a truce. If you grew up on the x-men cartoons I would whole heartedly recommend this series to you, its a funny clever nostalgic great time. While I can't say I grasped the full story, I did enjoy the joviality of this rather innocent interpretation of the X-Men. I know a lot of people were looking forward to this book; mainly people who were fans of the '90s X-Men cartoon.

Maybe I missed out on something, or maybe I forgot how good it was. There are reminders of the '80s while elements from the '00s like Cassandra Nova, the New X-Men, and the mega-Sentinel hang over the team like a Damocles' Sword. Really good - well thought out and paced. I've been collecting the individual '92 comics since they've been been released and haven't had a chance to read them. Well the best thing I can say is that they DID do a good job bringing back the 90's flavor, the thing is, Now with every person on Earth super-powered, they all press the attacks against the evil Celestial. There are a few fun bits but the overall leaves something to be desired. When you also factor in the mediocre artwork in itself trying to parody the proto-Image artwork of the early '90s and the fact that it also had to work in some stuff to justify it being a Secret Wars tie-in, what you end up with is a stinky mess of a comicbook that isn't going to make anybody happy. I was pretty excited for the X-Men '92 series. If you grew up on the x-men cartoons I would whole heartedly recommend this series to you, its a funny clever nostalgic great time. I stumbled across a comic book store trying to find a bathroom because it was an emergency, and didn't want to be rude, so I decided to purchase something from their store.
