Tuesday, November 22nd, AM. Pixelation happens when the signal for the channel you are trying to watch is too weak or has too much noise. Troubleshoot by checking all connectors for corrosion and tightness, and by looking for damaged coax cable. Running the cable through a surge protector, a defective splitter, or too many splitters can cause signal problems as well. If there is an amplifier in the line make sure it's getting power.

Thursday, January 26th, AM. Recently having pixelation issue on all tv channels. Local channels are worse but all tv channels have the issue. Both my dvr box and my non-dvr box have the issue. Boxes are in different rooms on different coax jacks. No splitters. Same issue persists. The Xfinity internet apps like Netflix and Prime are fine! Based on this, possible suspect a bad connection or weak signal outside building or at street location. Update- basically got tired of watching pixelated tv channels so I phoned support. After performing troubleshooting steps they were unable to resolve the issue from their end. A technician has been scheduled to come to the premise.

Monday, January 16th, PM. Whenever I try to watch a live sport, especially football or hockey, the feed is pixelated. It gets so pixelated that it becomes nauseating to watch. I have checked all my connections, have reset the set-top box numerous times, and have no issues with the stream through the Xfinity Stream app on Roku. I also have replaced the TV and the cable going from the TV down to the splitter in the basement where the cable comes into the house. Friday, January 22nd, PM. During the day, all channels are fine and our internet signal is never affected. It starts each day around p and lasts until around 11p. Comcast Labs always says the signal is good and we've checked all of our connections inside and out. We've also resatrted all of our boxes to no avail. I have done a system refresh online and upon completion, it works cleanly for about 5 minutes before going back to the pixelation and freezing which leads me to believe its something outside of my house. No cables have been moved or changed in the time this has been happening. What could be going on that can be temporarily fixed by a refresh but only affect our signals during the evening? Accepted Solution. We finally got a tech to come out and he replaced our spiltter on our house and something else in the alley line behind our house.

Monday, December 4th, PM. I am getting pixelation on seemingly all channels and on all tv's in my house. An error message coded as XRE also appears. After that we might be okay for a second or minute or a day and we go through the same thing again. And of course it happens when we don't want it to! Any suggestions? Many times my HD channels work, but sometimes not. Why does Comcast get away with this?? Had tech out, put splitter in to bypass amplifier, ran new cable outside. Same issue in Texas. Are you experiencing pixelation on all channels or a few in particular? It affects all channels and the DVR recordings have the pixelation recorded on the shows we want to watch as well.
