Fraudsters are using fake funeral live streams to con cash from Aberdeenshire and Moray mourners. Multiple funeral directors have fallen victim to these unscrupulous scammers trying to coax cash from the bereaved. All are now warning their online followers to be vigilant while Facebook has agreed to investigate the wrongful racket. Paul Deans of Fraserburgh Funeral Services has started adapting his online notices to thwart the callous con artists. Using a photo of year-old Emma Smith from Strichen , her friends were sent multiple links to what looked like the live streaming of her funeral service. Paul, like Alexander Buchan Funerals , has also had to alert his customers to his entire Facebook page being cloned. Everything is included in the costs of the funeral.

Aberdeen University Show Choir is a fully student-run performance group that embraces the individual talents that every person has to offer. Our aim is to spread joy to as many as possible through the power of song and dance. We rehearse once a week on campus to prepare for our annual Spring Concert where we showcase everything that we have been working on throughout the year. In Show Choir, we arrange songs around 4-part harmonies so you can sing in whatever range fits your voice the best! The pieces we perform tend to be up-beat pop songs, songs from musicals, mellowed out ballads, and anything in between! We are a no-audition and no-experience required group so anyone who has a passion for singing and performing is more than welcome to join. Just bring yourself and your enthusiasm! We will have auditions for solo performances in the concert for anyone who wants to see themselves in the spotlight but if you fancy yourself more of a group singer then that is just as appreciated! According to the ALBA candidate, it was no better in the housing estates nearby with parts of Gallowhill Terrace like an ice rink. The council have not provided grit bins.

At present, our local newspapers are filled with stories of animal cruelty —neglect, abandonment, abuse, dog fighting and so on. A lost dog was beaten to death in the Rosemount area a week ago in a particularly brutal and sickening attack. However some people are doing something about the many pets which go missing in our area and promoting responsible animal ownership. Facebook can be more than a place to catch up with friends and have online conversations — for many pet owners it can be a means to help recover lost animals. Sadly, not all animals are well loved and tended to, and we also have to be mindful of neglect and abuse. When a pet is lost or even occasionally deliberately stolen , the owner can post details of when and where the animal disappeared, along with photos. In many cases, animal lovers from across our area pick up the bulletin from the Lost and Found Pets page, and where possible, actively go and look for the animal.
