Alice in Wonderland is a American period adventure fantasy film directed by Tim Burton from a screenplay written by Linda Woolverton and produced by Walt Disney Pictures. Alice in Wonderland came under development in December , when Burton was asked to direct two 3D films for Disney, including the remake of Frankenweenie. It was followed by an extensive post-production and visual effects process where filming included live-action and motion capture sequences. The character of the White Queen was meant to instigate a role reversal, whereby Alice appears as the adult and she the child.
