Mission ringette The St. Albert Mission ringette teams are skating for medals this weekend at the Bernadette Price Memorial Tournament in Saskatoon.

Dwayne Andreen started coaching ringette in when his daughter Kim began playing. He continued to be involved with the sport for 30 years as a coach, volunteer, organizer, board member locally, provincially and nationally , supporter and advocate. Dwayne pushed his players to be the best they could be by instilling confidence and belief, and creating a positive learning environment.

In the morning game CORE met a determined team from St Albert who battled back from a two goal deficit in the fourth quarter to take the game into overtime. Overtime was a tight checking affair with chances at both ends of the ice. The bronze medal game was a classic barn burner with Zone 2 jumping out to a two goal lead midway through the third quarter only to have CORE battle back with four unanswered goals, taking a two goal lead late into the fourth quarter. Zone 2 made it interesting cutting the deficit to one with just over a minute left to play but CORE halted the comeback to take home the Bronze. Congratulations to all and best of luck at Nationals.
